The founders of David’s Courage, a treatment program for those who are suffering from drug or alcohol addiction, are hoping to complete renovations before welcoming clients into the facility.
Renovations are being done to the former Shady Rest Home building on Lincoln Highway in Plymouth. Co-Founder Ted Hayden said they are raising funds needed to complete the work needed in order to begin operations.
“Our renovations include a security system, the men’s and women’s bathrooms to accommodate the number of clients we will be serving,” said Hayden. The building is pretty old and dated. We’d like to spruce it up and make it bright and shiny and happy for everyone.”
Hayden said the goal is to raise about $100,000 to complete the necessary upgrades. They are about a quarter of the way toward that goal.
In addition, September will be adopted as “Inspire Courage Month” for David’s Courage.
“We will be selling yard signs. You can get all of that information on our website and our Facebook page. For $25 a sign, or whatever you feel like donating, and for the month of September we’d love for you to put that in your yard. Those will be available by Aug. 24 to prepare for the month of September.”
