The installation of cable prior to a work permit in the right-of-way will be redone, according to an agreement between the City of Plymouth and Comcast.
Plymouth City Engineer Rick Gaul explained to the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members that they will be redoing the job at 2160 N. Oak Road as per the specifications put forth in their permit.
“Essentially, they’re looking at going straight across the road instead of at an angle and they’ll be moving the section of line down and hook up the Super 8 Motel in that manner,” said Gaul.
At their last meeting, the board members imposed a fee of $2,500 a day as the work was done prior to the approval of a permit. A settlement may be negotiated if discussions and actions are satisfactory.
The board members approved the permit as presented as it will be correcting the previous work as well as the procedure.
The board members also granted similar work to be done on Airport Road, but approval will also need to be sought from the county commissioners as it passes through a county right-of-way.
