Site preparation continues for the new Lincoln Junior High School building. Project Manager Derek Anderson told the Plymouth School Board Thursday that the relocation of a water main is now complete, and the building pad elevation has been established.
He explained that the soil conditions are not the best for supporting a large building, so crews will be driving 300 to 400 piers up to 10 feet underground, to hold up the foundation walls. That process is expected to take up to two weeks. Once that’s done, work on footings and foundations can start. Anderson said work is also starting on the underground storm water and sanitary sewers.
He said that so far, the project is on schedule, and if that continues, walls will start going up by early August.
