Argos Superintendent Discusses Ongoing Projects

When Argos School Board members met on Monday, they approved a monthly payment to Milwood Construction for upgrades that are being completed at the school corporation.

Superintendent Ned Speicher said the architect checks to make sure all the proposed work is being completed, prior to the authorization of the payment.

He added the projects seem to be running on schedule but if they do happen to run over, they will not interfere with instruction.

Speicher explained that a few of the projects include minor things such as painting and carpet installation but they’re also renovating the elementary and high school restrooms and putting in a new security system. Speicher noted that the security upgrades include cameras and secure entryways at all the schools.

Even if the projects are not completely finished by August, Speicher said everything will still be safe and ready to go for the kids. He said if need be, construction areas will be sectioned off to keep students away and the remaining work can be done after school hours.
