Plymouth City Police Chief David Bacon asked the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members Monday night to start the process of finding a replacement for Detective Leo Mangus who will be leaving the force on Aug. 31.
Mangus recently submitted his retirement papers for consideration. Bacon said that several officers have expressed interest in taking the spot. The formal process of interviews for the hiring process will begin soon as the board approved Bacon’s request as presented.
Detective Mangus has served many years as an officer and detective with the Plymouth Police Department.
