Plymouth BOW Approves Ratification of Executive Orders

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members discussed the ratification of two executive orders during their meeting Monday night.

Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller explained that one order was to take part in a request by the U.S. Secret Service.

“I was contacted by the United States Secret Service to do an ambulance detail/motorcade for the vice president’s visit to Culver. I contacted the mayor, Sean [Surrisi, City Attorney] and Jeanine [Xaver, Clerk-Treasurer] and told them that I would like their permission to do that. They gave me permission to do that. It also entailed going down to Culver and taking him back to Grissom Air Force Base. I thought that was pretty neat that the Secret Service contacted us for that detail.”

The other executive order entailed the placement of a dumpster on the parking lot north of the fire department in order to complete renovations at an apartment building on Center Street. The dumpster will be removed by July 16.

The board members approved both ratifications with unanimous votes.
