A pedestrian was struck by a car and died in an accident in Plymouth on the Fourth of July.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Lapaz resident, Judy Lancaster, was traveling south on Michigan Road around 3:23 a.m. when she encountered a male pedestrian walking in the center of the roadway in the area of 3A Road. Police say Lancaster was unable to avoid the man and struck him with her car.
The pedestrian was identified as Ronald Obenchain, Jr. He did not survive the injuries sustained in the accident.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Marshall County Coroner John Grolich, Lapaz Fire Department, and Lapaz EMS.
