Strong storms that blew through Northern Indiana on Friday, July 20 produced two tornadoes – one was in Marshall County.
According to the National Weather Service, a weak tornado that measured EF-0 on the Fujita Scale was confirmed. It began about 5.9 miles southwest of Bremen and traveled a half of a mile before ending two minutes later. Peak wind gusts were measured at 70 mph.
National Weather Service officials said it was a disorganized tornado that touched down at 1:53 p.m. southwest of the intersection of County Road 6B and Ironwood Road in Marshall County. Drone pictures found a damaged barn, corn down in a semi convergent pattern and broken tree limbs along the Isaac Sells Ditch. That’s there the tornado lifted, as outlined in the NWS report.
