Lieutenant Governor Stresses Importance of Housing during Culver Visit

Housing is an opportunity to change people’s lives. That’s the view of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, according to Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch.

She visited Culver Thursday to tour the new Sand Hill Farms workforce housing development and other projects in the town’s Stellar Community plan. “Earlier today, I was in Gary, and we visited a housing project that Housing and Community Development did for homeless veterans and also viewed a project for homeless families,” she said. “And so there’s many different challenges that communities have, and you have to use housing to solve and address those challenges.”

In addition to being a workforce issue and a veterans’ issue, Crouch said the topic of housing was also a focal point of last week’s meeting of the state’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Task Force.
