The Culver Community Schools Corporation is keeping Daniel Medesi as its technology director. A contract renewal was approved by the school board Monday.
Superintendent Karen Shuman said only a small portion of the contract has been changed. “He’d been on a 260-day contract,” she explained. “We’re going to drop it to 250 days, which allows 10 days throughout the year that he could take off as needed. We’re kind of doing that across the board for all employees. It really gives you the summertime, when you need the other break, and this summer, I know, he’s been working longer shifts because of the updates that we’ve been doing. So this just makes it flow easier, for him and employees that are year-round employees.”
Also during Monday’s meeting, the Culver School Board passed a budget transfer resolution, to correct a minor bookkeeping error. Treasurer Casey Howard explained that payments for telephone and Internet services used to be covered by a technology grant. The school corporation no longer gets that funding, but the bills were still being paid out of the account set up for the grant. Board members agreed to take money from the General Fund to make up the deficit.
