Bremen Superintendent Provides Bond Project Update

Members of the community are taking notice of some of the upgrades happening at Bremen Public Schools.

Superintendent Dr. Jim White mentioned that one of the first projects being tackled with the bond money the school acquired is the installation of a new fence. He said the existing chain-link fence dated back to the 1970s.

He explained, “They had a lot of that torn out and put in a nice wrought-iron look aluminum fencing and I’ve had about everyone in town come up and tell me how much they love that new fence.”

Dr. White added that when school board members met Monday night, they accepted a $132,000 bid from Mc Guff roofing to replace some sections of roof that have been leaking profusely at the Elementary/Middle School.

He noted will also be renovating 12 of the floors in the restrooms at the Elementary/Middle school. He said that at least six of the bathrooms in the school will have new flooring by the start of the school year.
