One person was arrested late Friday night after a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 30 and Union Road in Marshall County.
Sgt. Nicholas Laffoon from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reportedly observed the driver of a vehicle commit traffic infractions. The driver, 40-year-old Kenneth Livergood of Lapaz, was allegedly found to be driving on a driver’s license with a lifetime suspension. The K9 officer and K9 Irok were deployed around the vehicle and a subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered syringes, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Further investigation found that part of the vehicle was listed as stolen from Highland, Indiana, according to the report.
Livergood was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of auto theft, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and operating a vehicle after a lifetime suspension. A female passenger was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and was released from the scene.
