Town Superintendent Jamie Lindstrom came before Argos Town Council members on Thursday to discuss a sewer extension project on Woodland Trail.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney explained that the project has been on the docket for a few years but since residents weren’t reporting any issues, they allowed them to remain hooked up to their own sewer line.
She said now that the line out there is getting older, they want to get a mainline installed out there, just in case there are any breaks and residents need to hook up to the Town’s sewer system.
Superintendent Lindstrom estimated that the cost of engineering and installation will not surpass $3,500. He also noted that the installation work could be done in-house, utilizing members of the utility crew.
Town Council members gave Lindstrom the go-ahead to proceed with the project. Mullaney said they will begin working on the Woodland Trail sewer extension within the next month or so.
