Tomorrow is the annual Culver Boys and Girls Club Auction.
This event serves as one of the main fundraisers for the Culver Boys and Girls Club. It will be held in Lays Dining Hall at Culver Academies. Doors open at 6 p.m. Eastern and the event will kick-off at 7 p.m.
Attendees will have a chance to bid on hundreds of items during a silent and live auction.
When Town Council members met back in May, Karen Shuman spoke on behalf of the club, asking if the council would be willing to provide a donation for the event, as they have done in the past.
Council President Ginny Bess Munroe explained that she had to abstain from the vote since she serves as an organizer for the event and a member of the CBGC Board. All other members voted in favor of donating a kayak rental permit, a beach pass and an interior pier slip for the fundraising auction.
Earlier this week, Munroe sent out an alert informing individuals that Culver Academies is paving the lots around the ice arena and the gym, so parking in those sections will be unavailable.
She suggested parking along Academy Road or by Eppley Auditorium and noted that CBGC board members will provide a shuttle service for people who may want a ride from those areas.
She said they will be doing pickups from those spots between 5:55 and 7:00 p.m. and added that they will also have the service from 9:15 until 10:00 p.m. for those leaving the event.
