The Plymouth City Council members approved resolutions Monday night that dealt with additional appropriations.
According to Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver, a $120,000 additional appropriation was requested that includes $24,000 for a security deposit for the Aquatics Center and $96,000 in unanticipated insurance increases.
The Crime Prevention Fund request was for $16,182 which is the amount received in donations this year. Xaver said the money needs to be appropriated before it can be spent.
In a separate additional appropriation request, Xaver said there was a motion at the last meeting to spend a minimum of $25,000, or the unspent balance of the original $100,000 appropriation, whichever is greater, and donate it to the United Way Flood Relief Fund. The remaining balance in the fund that can be used for this is out of the mayor’s city promotion account in the General Fund. The approximate balance is $41,120, but Xaver stressed that some of that money will be used for the continued debris pickup from the flooding event in August. The council members agreed to present a check of a $25,000 donation once approval is given from the state.
The additional appropriations were subject to public comment as a public hearing was opened to hear those comments. There were no comments made. The council members then unanimously approved a motion to approve those additional appropriations.
