Some Culver Community Schools programs will be getting a boost, thanks to a pair of donations accepted by the school board Monday. “Culver’s Lions Club gave the Spanish Club $500 for their Costa Rica trip, and the Culver PTO has given both $500 to the elementary and then to the middle school reading program,” explained Superintendent Karen Shuman.
Board members also approved an adjustment to the corporation’s accounting system Monday. They passed a resolution to remove “Fund 701 Adjusting Entry.” Corporation Treasurer Casey Howard said the change was recommended by the State Board of Accounts because the school corporation doesn’t physically hold the money in its own bank account. Instead, claims are handled through an outside bank.
