The recent Click it or Ticket campaign wrapped up where participating officers from the Bourbon Police Department recorded 26 citations and made two arrests during the event.
The Click it or Ticket campaign focused on seat belt enforcement in cars and trucks, for both children and adults, in the front seat and back seat, both day and night.
Officers were paid overtime for their efforts with federal traffic-safety funds administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
The state’s seat belt law hit the 30 year mark this year and the Click it or Ticket enforcement has been in effect for more than 20 years. Indiana requires all children aged eight and younger to be in an approved car seat or booster seat.
More than 230 Indiana law enforcement agencies participated in the recent, 24-day enforcement period.
