Two Injured in Marshall County Crash

Two people were injured in a crash near Plymouth Wednesday afternoon. Marshall County Police say it happened around 3:40 at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and King Road.

Officers say a Dodge Neon driven by Ashley Halsey, 21, of Plymouth, was heading south on King Road. But after reportedly stopping at the intersection, police believe Halsey hit a Jeep Cherokee that was traveling east on Lincoln Highway. The impact sent the Dodge off the roadway and into a utility pole, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Both vehicles were heavily damaged.

The front-seat passenger in the Dodge, Alexa Kviz reportedly had to be extricated from the car. Kviz was later taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Jeep, Darlene Riewoldt, 59, of Bourbon, was taken to Saint Joseph Health System Plymouth Medical Center with unknown injuries. Halsey was uninjured.

Plymouth Fire and EMS, Indiana State Police, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources also assisted at the scene.
