The Plymouth Police Department received a report regarding a sexual assault to a 13-year-old female on April 23rd, 2018.
According to a news release from Detective Sergeant Leo Mangus, The assault occurred in September of 2016 and the suspect was identified as 20-year-old Edgar Herrera, of Plymouth. Herrera was 18-years-old at the time of the alleged assault.
Detective Mangus investigated further and charges of child molesting as a Level 3 Felony were filed by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office. An arrest warrant was reportedly issued for Edgar Herrera on May 4th.
He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on May 7th. His bond has been set at $25,000 cash.
