The drug take back was deemed a success by Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel.
Sheriff Hassel said 82 pounds of expired, unwanted or unused medications were collected during the event on Saturday, April 28. Residents were able to meet with officers in the Walgreens parking lot to easily dispose of the medications without question.
Sheriff Hassel added that in the past six months an additional 662 pounds of medications were collected at the Bremen Police Department, Culver Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
This event is sponsored by the DEA in an effort to help prevent pill abuse and theft.
