The John Glenn School Board members were notified this week that over 400 transfer students are expected in the 2018-2019 school year.
That number is similar to last year’s transfer student figure.
In January, the school board members discussed enrollment and transfers in a work session. Statistics given then indicate a 1.5 percent increase each school year which may lead to facility additions to accommodate the increasing number of students.
During the January meeting, the members analyzed classroom size per building and the number of students per class, plus function and capacity at each school. They compared that to the numbers then and what the corporation could see in the next few years.
No decision was made at that time, but discussions could carry forward in the near future.
