Commissioner, Council Races Draw Voters to Marshall County Polls

The county commissioner and county council races in Marshall County kept election workers busy at 12 vote centers on Primary Election Day.

The final vote count in the Republican County Commissioner District 1 race found Stan Klotz with the win over Incumbent Kurt West Garner. David W. Hostetler gathered the least amount of votes in the race.

Republican Mandy Campbell defeated Incumbent Bill Githens for the County Council District 2 seat while Jack W. Roose won the County Council District 3 seat over Ralph Booker on the Republican ticket.

For Republican County Recorder, it was Janet Howard with the win over Bill Cleavenger and Anna “Buffy” Breeding. In the Union Township Trustee race on the Republican ticket, it was Marlene Morrison Mahler edging out Bruce A. Snyder.

Two Republican candidates will move on in the Argos Town Council race. Suzanne R. Umbaugh and George Null received the top two vote totals. Edward L. Barcus was the third candidate in the race.

Three Democrat candidates were selected on the North Township Board. The top three were Angela Huff, Steven M. Davenport and Ronnie R McCartney. The fourth candidate was James P. Berger.

It was Democrat Angie Rupchock-Schafer with the win over Scott Wilhelm in the Center 4 Precinct Committeeman race and Democrat James M. Greer took the Center 5 Precinct Committeeman race over Brandon Rich.
