Two people were arrested around 1 a.m. on Wednesday after police were notified of a theft in progress at the Kroger grocery store in Plymouth.
According to Plymouth police, the suspects left the store in a vehicle and the description of the vehicle was given to officers. Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop on Western Avenue. When the vehicle pulled into a parking lot at 1200 Markley, the driver, 22-year-old Quarles Mack, of South Bend, fled from the scene, according to the report. Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department took him into custody on U.S. 30.
The female passenger was held at the scene. She allegedly provided false information to officers so her identity is pending.
