A hearing was held over a waiver of non-compliance form submitted by DAC Enterprise during Monday night’s Plymouth City Council meeting.
As previously, reported DAC Enterprise submitted compliance documents to county officials past the deadline. In order for the company’s tax abatement to be processed for this year, a waiver of non-compliance form had to be approved by the city council.
The form initially came before council member at their first meeting in April, where it received unanimous approval. However, this week, City Attorney Sean Surrisi explained that when he reported the council’s decision to the County Assessor’s office, they informed him a few more steps were required in order for the waiver to be officially accepted.
Surrisi explained, “We’ve dealt with waiver of non-compliance before, as it’s come up with tax abatement applications…This is the first time we had one of these where it was having to do with a form filing that wasn’t with the city and I didn’t realize that we had the same hearing and resolution requirements for that.”
Surrisi added that owner Dennis Cripe has been invoiced for the cost of publishing the notice of the hearing in the newspaper.
No additional comments were provided during the public hearing so it was closed. Council members went onto pass the resolution to accept the waiver without any opposition.
