Public input is requested regarding the proposed U.S. 30 freeway project that would upgrade the highway to freeway standards between Valparaiso and Fort Wayne.
Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter and Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez are putting together a proposal for the state and public opinion is needed to include in the collection of data.
While the project isn’t set to even begin construction in five to ten years, if approved, officials in the U.S. 30 Coalition and local coalitions are getting data together in order for state officials to consider an overpass or interchange considered in areas along the freeway. The only way that a vehicle could cross the freeway is if an overpass or interchange is constructed.
A meeting in order to gather input is set for Tuesday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the second floor meeting room (Room 203) in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth. Any questions may be directed to the mayor’s office at 574-936-6717.
