Marshall County Commissioner Mike Delp would like to ask an all-hazards preparedness facilitator to present information to county and municipal leaders.
Delp explained to the Plymouth City Council members that he attended a workshop in January in Elkhart County that focuses on efforts for leaders responsible for their community’s preparedness, response and recovery capabilities.
“It just opened by eyes so much to how we, as a community, need to be ready for these types of disasters,” said Delp. “You go from a railroad accident to a tanker rolling over to a farm accident with anhydrous ammonia…I’m not trying to scare anybody but we’ve got to be ready for those things.”
Delp mentioned that there is no cost to the county or to the city for the presentation to be conducted locally. A Saturday morning meeting will be scheduled and he will notify the Plymouth City officials of when the presentation will be held.
