Clean-up efforts from the recent flood event in Plymouth are ongoing.
Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt told the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members on Monday that the department hauled in 42 loads of sand, or 434 tons, for sandbags in preparation efforts. The cost to the city was $3,414.02.
Street department crews have also been busy picking up garbage from dumpsters placed in flood affected areas. There are 16 dumpsters available for garbage. Marquardt said he won’t know a price until he gets tickets back from Republic Services. They have collected 520 yards of garbage after two weeks.
He noted that there haven’t been many appliances hauled away because most of the time those are taken from yards. Any hazardous waste needs to be taken to the Solid Waste District.
