Driver Dies from Injuries in Accident in Marshall County

The driver involved in a Friday night accident on U.S. 31 and 13th Road in Marshall County that claimed the life of a Plymouth man has died from injuries sustained in that accident.

According to an update released by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, 23-year-old Austin Webb of Knox passed away on Saturday after being transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend following the two-car accident.

According to police, Webb was driving a Pontiac Grand Am westbound on 13th Road when he reportedly failed to yield to the right-of-way of a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 32-year-old Terry Burgess of Elkhart who was traveling south on U.S. 31. Police say Burgess’ vehicle hit the passenger side of Webb’s vehicle causing extensive damage.

A passenger in that vehicle, 26-year-old Ricky L. Bradley, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Another passenger, 24-year-old Myles Brewer of North Judson, was transported to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. At last report, Brewer remains in critical condition there.

The occupants in Burgess’ car were not injured.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department continues the investigation into this accident along with the Indiana State Police.
