The Plymouth Street Department is working to help residents remove debris from the recent flood event. The collection effort will continue through the month of March.
It is encouraged to separate any unwanted debris on the curb in front of the residence or business. Separate electronics into its own pile as well as appliances and furnaces, tires, and sandbags. Drywall, carpet, wood and furniture needs to be in their own single pile.
Trees, signs and fire hydrants need to stay clear of debris.
The street department crews will be using large equipment to take care of the garbage so yard damage may exist. That specific clean up will be the responsibility of the property owner.
For those needing to demolish a structure damaged by flood water, a contractor will need to remove all debris from the demolition.
Hazardous chemicals will need to be taken to the Recycle Depot at 1900 Glaub Dr. in Plymouth. They will not be collected by the street department.
Any questions can be directed to the street department at 574-936-2017.
