According to Culver Superintendent Karen Shuman, school board members awarded bus bids during their meeting Monday night.
Shuman explained that the school corporation was looking to sell three buses as a part of their bus replacement plan. They had two 66 passenger buses that were included in one bid and then another bus that holds 54 passengers that was bid out on its own.
Three companies bid on the 54 passenger bus. Shuman said the quotes that were submitted came in around $115,000, $114,000 and $111,000. The third bid came from the company IC Collins who provided trade-in on the bus that lowered their bid of $111,000 to approximately $109,000.
Three companies also bid on the two 66 passenger buses. One quote was for approximately $199,000, the other was $198,000 and the third came in at $193,000. The last bid was also from IC Collins who allowed a trade-in for both buses, lowering their bid to about $188,000.
The company IC Collins was awarded both bids. Shuman said they will be looking to replace all three buses in the future but no official action has been taken on acquiring those just yet.
