An informational meeting for property owners in Marshall County’s historic districts is set for next week.

The meeting is expected to deliver information on economic development benefits of historic districts, locations of these districts in the county, the value of Main Street as a model for downtown development and Bremen’s experience with the program. In addition, information on grant and tax incentive opportunities will be given.

Marshall County has 12 historic districts in Argos, Bourbon, Bremen, Culver, and Plymouth. Within those districts, 1,000 buildings exist. These properties may be eligible to receive tax credits and other funding incentives for restoration.

The Wythougan Valley Preservation Council is hosting this gathering with presentations from Mary Shaw from Indiana Main Street, Jennifer Vanderburgh from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs, Matt VanSoest from the Bremen Main Street Committee, and Preservationist Kurt Garner.

The meeting is set for Thursday, Feb 22 at 6 p.m. at Wild Rose Moon 115 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth.
