Culver School Board members held a 2-hour work session prior to their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday night.
Superintendent Karen Shuman stated that the work session was to go over policies and to discuss a strategic plan for the school corporation. “We’ve just started looking at creating the goals and objectives and then creating action steps.” Shuman explained, “So we have some long term and short term goals, mostly within facilities and financial management. Maintaining our current balances and actually increasing those, doing things to increase enrollment and then to improve our facilities.”
Superintendent Shuman added that another aspect of their strategic plan involves improving community relations. She said they hope to alert members of the community about what’s happening with the schools through website updates and putting promotional fliers around town.
