The Plymouth School Board will consider a few start-of-the-year items when it meets tonight. Board members are scheduled to reorganize, set their pay for the year, and approve their 2018 meeting schedule. Various appointments will be considered, as well as the renewal of the school board’s contract with attorney Jeff Houin.
In other business, board members will decide on several policy updates, to bring the corporation up to date with state laws. Under the proposed changes, every school employee will be required to undergo a background check every five years. Updates are also being made to the corporation’s suicide intervention procedures.
Tonight’s Plymouth School Board meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Plymouth Schools Administration Building, followed by a board of finance meeting around 7:45. Board members will get an update on where the school corporation’s finances stand at the end of 2017, approve credit cards, and authorize the corporation treasurer to pre-write vendor checks for the year.
