Some accomplishments, as well as a few ongoing goals, were shared during the Argos School Board meeting on Monday.
The successfully implemented Argos Pre-School program was acknowledged as an accomplishment, as well as the corporation’s two nominations from the Advanced Placement Teacher Investment Program offered through the University of Notre Dame. The Jr./Sr. High School was a finalist for school of the year and instructor Jon Arndt was a finalist for math teacher of the year.
Information shared by Argos Administrative Assistant Patti VanDerWeele showed that some other accomplishments from the 2017-2018 school year included renovation work such as boiler and window weather seal replacement, painting secondary hallways and doors, paving driveways, completing striping and carpeting several classrooms, hallways and locker rooms.
Some on-going goals that were mentioned by Superintendent Ned Speicher during the meeting included providing effective professional development opportunities for all certified staff focused on improving classroom instruction and offering quality instruction and adequate resources to ensure that all students a chief a minimum of one year’s growth in Math, Language Arts and Reading.
According to a slide-presentation from the meeting, the school is also working with N2N Technologies to restructure their technology leadership team in order to effectively provide the integration of technology and instruction, technology repair, maintenance and data entry.
