Bremen High School Senior Emma Hundt has been named the Marshall County Community Foundation 2018 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar.
As the recipient of the 2018 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship, she will receive a four-year, full tuition scholarship to the Indiana college of her choice, as well as a $900 annual stipend for required equipment and books. After graduation, Hundt plans to pursue a major in Engineering at Purdue University.
Indiana ranks among the lowest states in the percentage of residents over the age of 25 with a bachelor’s degree. According to the Marshall County Community Foundation, the primary purpose of the Lilly Endowment Scholarship Program is to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana and increase awareness of the beneficial roles Indiana community foundations can play in their communities.
The MCCF said that the program also aims to encourage and support the efforts of current and past educational, not-for-profit and civic leaders to improve the quality of life in Indiana generally and in local communities throughout the state.
