Daylight Saving Time ends tomorrow at 2 a.m. local time. Clocks will need to turn back one hour at that time or before you go to bed tonight.
Manual clocks will need to be turned back while some digital devices may have a feature that will observe the time change automatically.
When you change the time it’s a good time to change the batteries in smoke alarms. Indiana State Fire Marshal Jim Greeson suggests performing the task at that time as a reminder to ensure fresh batteries are installed in those emergency devices.
One working smoke alarm should be installed in each residence. Ideally, smoke alarms should be located outside of each sleeping area. There should also be at least one smoke alarm on every floor. If you cannot afford a smoke alarm, many fire stations and related organizations maintain programs that offer free smoke alarms, especially to low-income families and individuals, senior citizens and those who need extra time to evacuate a home in danger.
