The U.S. 31 construction project should wrap up on time. That’s according to INDOT Northwest District Director of Media Relations Doug Moats who mentioned that the weather this week and the addition of the railroad crossing reconstruction should only delay the project a little. The project is set to wrap up the first week of November.
The resurfacing project has been ongoing all summer from 13th Road to State Road 10. The U.S. 31 resurfacing project was bundled with the State Road 17 project. Crews worked on both projects simultaneously at times to keep on schedule. The State Road 17 project has been complete for a couple of months while crews continue to finish U.S. 31.
The U.S. 31 portion of the project is anticipated to be complete on Nov. 8.
The total cost for both projects is $7.7 million.
