Two people were arrested following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning in Marshall County.
A Marshall County sheriff’s deputy pulled over a light blue Chrysler Concord passenger vehicle in 11,000 block of Veterans Parkway and U.S. 31 after the driver allegedly committed several traffic violations.
During the traffic stop, police say the driver, 53-year-old Rex Hammond, of Elkhart, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a firearm. The passenger, Alexandra Latendrosse, 19, was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were taken into custody.
Hammond was booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a serious felon as Level 4 Felonies. He was also cited for various traffic infractions, according to information released by police. He is being held with no bond.
Latendrosse faces a preliminary misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia. She is being held on a $1,500 bond.
