Officials with the Indiana Department of Transportation are still undecided on whether or not to allow for the construction of J-turns at two intersections in Marshall County.
According to Northwest INDOT District Media Relations Director Doug Moats, a decision could come in the next couple of weeks.
INDOT held public hearings in September concerning J-turns on U.S. 31 at the intersection with State Road 110 and at the intersection with State Road 10 and Dewey Street. Argos town officials, Marshall County officials, state senators and representatives and local residents all urged INDOT to decide against these types of intersections for a variety of reasons. They pleaded with the state organization to come up with an alternative way to make those intersections safer.
