Deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department recently completed a 25-day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over event where 24 citations were issued along with nine arrests.
The department joined 220 other law enforcement agencies across the state in the campaign effort.
It is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or higher.
Officers remind you to designate a sober driver if alcohol consumption is planned. Use public transportation or ridesharing service in order to avoid driving under the influence. If you are with someone who wants to attempt to drive home while intoxicated, take their keys and help them get a safe ride home.
Police ask that you report impaired driving as soon as you can and give them as much detail as possible about your observation.
