Marshall County Treasurer Reminds Residents of Approaching Tax Deadline

Marshall County Treasurer Angie Birchmeier wishes to remind all community members that the 2016 payable 2017 tax bills second installment will be due Monday, November 13th. That means that individuals have three weeks to be sure all the correct information makes it to the proper channels.

Mailed payments must have the correct address, proper postage and be postmarked by the postal service by November 13th. If you wish to have a receipt, enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment.

The Marshall County Treasurer’s Office is located in Room 206 of the County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth. There is a drop box on the south end of the County Building for after-hours payments.

Monday through Friday it is open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. During fall collection, the Treasurer offers extended hours on Saturday November 11th from 9 a.m. to noon. On Thursday, November 9 and Monday, November 13th the office will stay open until 6 p.m. However, on Friday, November 10th, all county offices are closed in observance of Veterans Day.

Aside from paying by mail or in person, there are other payment options available to local tax payers.

Teacher’s Credit Union branches and iAB Financial Bank in Bourbon will collect payments beginning two weeks prior to the due date. Tax payers in the Bremen area can drop their payments off at the Bremen Clerk-Treasurer’s office at 111 S Center Street in Bremen.

For a convenience fee, payments can also be made by debit or credit card in the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office, online at co.marshall.in.us or by phone at 1-866-480-8552.

Tax payers are urged to carefully review their tax statements to be sure they’re receiving all deductions they may be eligible for.
