A federal grand jury has indicted Peter Rink, also known as Peter Myers, on two counts.

Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman said Rink is facing a charge of possession of one or more firearms and affecting interstate commerce after previously being convicted of a felony, and possession of a Remington 870, 12-guage shotgun with a barrel of less than 18 inches.

The Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office had previously filed charges on August 31, 2017 against Rink on charges of dealing methamphetamine, carrying a handgun without a license and assisting a criminal.

Charges stem from a traffic stop on Aug. 29 on U.S. 30 around King Road in Plymouth. Rink identified himself and agreed with his female passenger when she gave officers a false identity. Methamphetamine was reportedly discovered during the investigation along with syringes containing drugs, a handgun and a sawed-off shotgun. Police also discovered that Rink’s prior name was Peter Meyers. He was Peter Meyers while serving time in an Arizona prison for aggravated assault and misconduct involving a weapon.

The case transferred into a federal jurisdiction where these federal indictments were issued. Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman said the Rink faces a sentence of 57 to 115 months in federal prison if convicted.
