Plymouth officers have made arrests in a burglary incident reported on Aug. 28.
Police say a man entered the Maax business at 1001 N. Oak Drive in Plymouth in the overnight hours on Monday, Aug. 28 and was found by a worker at the bottom of the stairs inside the building with a change machine on top of him.
The suspect, 49-year-old Gerald Boyd, Sr., of North Judson, was trapped underneath the machine and was later flown to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment, according to police.
Investigators believe that Boyd made an unauthorized entry into the Maax building and he had no authority to move the change machine. An arrest warrant was obtained on Oct. 9 and Boyd was arrested on a preliminary charge of burglary.
Elliott M. Earnest, 28, of Knox, was taken into custody on Tuesday, Oct. 17 after police say Earnest participated in the burglary. Earnest was booked into the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of conspiracy to commit burglary.
