Officials from the Indiana Department of Transportation made the announcement last week of funds awarded through the state’s Community Crossings grant. Over 430 applications were received this year in the La Porte District which holds Marshall County in its jurisdiction.
Marshall County will receive $518,322.87. Highway Supervisor Jason Peters said that money will be used on three projects. Work on Beech Road from U.S. 6 to 3B Road is on the list as well as North Michigan Street from Tyler to 1st Road and South Michigan Street from Dewey Street to State Road 110. That completes about half of the list given to INDOT for consideration for this round of grants.
The projects are expected to begin next year.
