The Plymouth Police Department and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received donations for their K9 programs with combined efforts from the American Legion Post #27 in Plymouth.
On Tuesday, Members of the American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary and Sons of the Legion presented checks to the Plymouth Police K9 program and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K9 program. Each check was for $3,000.
The American Legion entities wanted to show their appreciation for the hard work the K9 officers and K9 handlers do to protect the safety of the residents.
Plymouth City Police Chief David Bacon commented that the funds will help in the effort to replace K9 Jax next year.
Chief Bacon along with K9 handler John Weir and K9 Jax accepted the donation on behalf of the Plymouth City Police Department while Sheriff Matt Hassel accepted the donation on behalf of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
