John Glenn School Board Approves Teacher Appreciation Grant Policy

The John Glenn School Board approved a Teacher Appreciation Grant Policy this week.

The members agreed to enact a 25 percent increase for highly effective teachers over effective teachers.

In previous years, a teacher was given a $1.00 increase in pay for being a highly effective teacher which didn’t give enough of a funding gap between a teacher who was rated as effective.

State law required each school corporation to provide the results of staff performance evaluations by teacher identification numbers to the Department of Education. Staff performance evaluation plans must be submitted to the DOE by Sept. 15.
