The Plymouth City Council approved a measure this week to assist American Containers in the company’s effort to expand.
Owner Michael Isban approached the council with plans to expedite the manufacturing of products at the facility with the addition of specialized equipment. The goal is to increase the competitive edge in the market and to create jobs.
The company has been a fixture in the Plymouth community for 50 years and has branched out to include facilities in Georgia and California.
In order to seek a tax abatement for the addition, the company asked the city council Monday night to approve the property as an economic revitalization area. That request was approved by the city council in the form of a resolution.
The company provides solutions in corrugated packaging, corrugated plastic packaging, load securement, door fillers, and paper pallets.
