The United Way campaign kicks off Saturday, Aug. 12 with the second annual Taste of Marshall County event at the Young Amphitheater in Plymouth’s Centennial Park.
The Taste of Marshall County is the official launch of the 2017 campaign with proceeds benefiting the fight for health, education and financial stability of all residents. Local health and human service non-for-profit groups gain support from the United Way of Marshall County, a tradition that spans 50 years. More than $8 million has been allocated to local agencies for an array of community needs.
This year’s kick-off event will include a Marshall County Running Club sponsored 5K/1 mile run/walk at 4 p.m., food court, beer/wine garden and live entertainment from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
VIP packages are available for $30 and can be purchased online at www.marshallcountyuw.org or at the office at 2701 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth (in the KeyBank building). The package gets you $20 in taste tickets, an event t-shirt, a beer/wine entertainment pass, and VIP parking. Taste tickets may be purchased at the event for $1 each.
