Plymouth City Engineer Rick Gaul informed the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members this week that several street projects will be contracted out this fall.
“Essentially what we’re looking at doing is having a fall contract,” said Gaul. “I guess most of this list are community crossings projects that we need to get done. What we’re looking at doing is starting as soon as we can this fall. We’ll have 30-some projects.”
While the list is long, Gaul said plans are in place to wrap up the projects as best as possible before the winter season hits.
“They’ll be looking at working as far as they can. We put an intermediate date. Basically if they mill a street, it needs to have a surface on it and temporary striping over the winter. If they tear up a sidewalk, concrete has to be placed and dirt basically around there has to be set so people don’t trip and fall off the edge of it.”
Gaul said he hopes most of the work can be done by November.
