Officials at TreeHouse Foods, Inc. announced Thursday that they intend to close a Plymouth factory.
Bay Valley Foods, Inc., at 1430 Western Ave., in Plymouth will cease operations at the end of the year. Another facility in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota will close as well as a facility in Dotha, Alabama.
According to a news release on their website, TreeHouse Foods, Inc. made the decision as part the company’s restructuring plan.
The Plymouth facility employs approximately 150 people and produces banana peppers, jalapenos, pickles and pickle relish. According to the release, the company will provide outplacement support to employees whose positions are being eliminated.
Total costs related to the closures of the three factories are expected to be around $44.5 million.
